Hayden's Senior

Hayden met her Senior yesterday, she is supposed to have two Seniors but one was out yesterday.  Hayden met Madison and she fell in love with her immediately.  She is so excited.  She can't stop talking about Madison.  Madison is a softball player too, which is something real special.  She also tells me every 5 minutes that Madison is 17 years old, like it is the best thing in the world.  Madison gave her a stuffed bulldog and Hayden made her a special card that said I love you on it.  I love the way she loves people she doesn't even know.  She is such a sweetheart!  As I have said before, this is going to be a wonderful year for my sweet girl.  I didn't go yesterday. However when I picked Hayden up she told me that all the other Moms were there.  Later I found out that only 1 Mom came.  Silly girl, trying to make me feel bad.  The Mom that was there did tell me at Soccer practice last night that Hayden's face was priceless and so happy when they introduced Madison to her.  Then it made me wish I had made arrangements to be there.  Mimi did go and took a sweet picture.

15 Month Check Up

Today was Colton's 15 month checkup.  Can't believe he is already 15 months old!  He was such a big boy, Mark was able to go with us today...due to lots of rain on his job.  Colton really likes the nurse, Michelle.  He let her take him to the scale all by herself, without Mommy.  Then he laid down on the table to be measured, and he just looked at her and smiled.  He was 24lb 13oz, 32 3/4 inches, which translates to 75th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height!  Big boy is thinning up a little bit!  When Dr. Beeber came in to check big boy, he wasn't as impressed.  He screamed the whole time, but when Dr. Beeber was done, he got back down and walked around.  He did have to have two shots today and he was very good.  Mark got to witness how they make you, the parent hold them down to hurt them.  Always makes you feel so good as they are watching you with tears streaming down their cheeks.  Probably wondering what in the world are you doing to me Mommy and Daddy!  As always he was a very healthy little man.  Dr. Beeber says that he is perfect, as if we had any doubt!

Now we are good until 18 months and then we get to do it all over again.

Fresh Beat Band

Last night Mark and I took the girls to see the Fresh Beat Band Concert at The Fox!  They were so excited and this was kind of another early birthday celebration for Gracie, or at least that is what she thinks!  Turning 4 is a huge deal at our house, we celebrate for a month.  I love to celebrate my babies birthdays, they are our blessings and world!  The first thing we had to do was buy 2 light up sticks for them to wave around!  Then Mark had to go get popcorn and cokes, I mean they can't watch a show without those, at least that is what Hayden said anyway.  The best part was when the crowd starting cheering "Fresh Beat Band"  before it started and they were sitting there with their mouths wide open, no idea what was going to happen.  Then the curtain moved and they had a big screen TV that counted down from 10 and then the band entered the stage.  Their faces were totally PRICELESS!!!  They were a little shy at first.  Hayden wouldn't get up and dance but little Gracie was ready to boogie!  She stood and moved like a pro and sang a long.  All it took was a little confidence from her little sister and Hayden was dancing and singing too.  They were so into it!  Mark went to get them a shirt as a souvenir of their first concert while they were dancing, so they were so surprised when he came back with purple shirts and a poster for their door.  Now they have their first concert poster too.  It was truly a great experience and enjoyed by all of us.  The best part for Mark and I was watching them and how excited they were.  We just kept looking at each other and laughing about how happy they were.  Being parents have made us realize that having fun is now whatever makes our babies smile and happy!  That is what makes us happy.

Soccer Practice and Goalies

Hayden has had Soccer practice twice a week for two weeks.  She is doing great and really enjoying it!  There is one little girl on her team that she isn't too sure about.  This little girl keeps pushing Hayden down, with her hands.  Hand are a NO NO in Soccer, this little girl knows the rules but chooses to ignore them apparently.  Hayden always has to scrimmage against this girl because they are a little more aggressive than the other girls so far.  Last night this little girl acted like a big ole brat(for the lack of better words).  She didn't want to practice and she pouted most of the night.  So Hayden is ruling the ball and field, headed to the goal, when this little girl runs right to her and hits her in the chest and pushes her down to the ground, with her hands.  I was standing up out of my chair by this point, getting a little upset!  Thank goodness the Coach ran over to this little girl and explained the rules once again.  All the other Moms were surprised too!  Hayden got right up and kept on playing though.  I could tell she was shocked and maybe a little embarrassed, but she was a big girl and never showed it.  She did tell me later that her chest hurt but she was okay.  I know that things are going to happen and that some of them are going to forget that they can't use their hands, but I am telling you, this little girl did it on purpose last night.  I told Hayden later to just keep being aggressive and play the game the right way!  She did an awesome job last night and as always made me proud.

Hayden also practiced being the Goalie last night.  She did a great job too, she stopped at least 4 goals!  I love the way she smiles when she knows she has done something good.  Her Coach complimented her a lot last night and so did the other Moms.  All of us Mommies try to cheer all the girls on, it really gets them going!  Her first game is Sept. 8th at 9am.  I can't wait to see how she does.  This year will be a lot different but I think she is really going to enjoy it!

One of my previous post was about Hayden's chicken business and coop.  Well, when we got home from school yesterday, Hayden checked for eggs and she did have two in the coop.  She brought them in smiling like a very proud girl and put them up.  Then she watered the chickens and fed them.  She told me she played with them too.  I didn't even ask what that really meant!  She told me on the way to practice that Daddy was going to be so surprised when he got home and the chickens had food and water.  Then she said "when we get home Daddy is going to tell me that I didn't have any eggs today.  Then I will tell him yes we did we had 2 and I did every thing by myself".  She was right too!  He couldn't believe that she did it all by herself but he was pretty proud of her.

Oh and Hayden loved her deviled eggs last night, but you should have seen her face when we told her that they were her eggs.  She looked at me like "WHAT" and then she smiled at Mark and said "I don't care these are really good deviled eggs".  Love this little girl so much.

Surprises from Aunt Linda

Aunt Linda was full of surprises for my sweet babies yesterday.  She showed up at GWA to eat lunch with Hayden.  Mimi was surprised too.  Mimi said that Hayden's face was priceless when she found out Aunt Linda was going to eat lunch with her!  Aunt Linda got to enjoy some pasta with Hayden.  Hayden loves to eat lunch in the lunch room because they have pasta about 3 times a week!  Aunt Linda said that Hayden told her that she would really like it because it is so good!  So I asked what they talked about and Hayden said "mostly my chickens"  I can only imagine the conversation that they had!  Hayden also introduced Aunt Linda to some of her friends.  They had a great lunch together.

Afterwards, Aunt Linda called me to see if Gracie, Colton and myself would like to go to Dairy Queen for ice cream.  So we met her there while we waiting on Hayden to get out of school.  Gracie was a little tired and cranky at first, but she cheered up as she enjoyed her blizzard.  Colton liked to help Aunt Linda eat her ice cream.  He wanted to feed it to her, he did a pretty good job too!

Thank you Aunt Linda for always thinking of ways to surprise and love my babies.  You made their days yesterday and it is something that they will always remember!  We love you Linda!!

****there is another post for today also****

Chicken Coop

The Easter Bunny left lots of baby chicks for Hayden, Gracie and Colton this year.  Well, these baby chicks are all grown up and at least one of them is now laying eggs!  You should have heard Hayden's squeal when Mark showed her the first egg.  I think it was a surprise to Mark too.

Mark decided that we needed a bigger coop, so that is what he did this weekend.  He took their playhouse and made it into a coop.  It is a fancy chicken coop and perfect for the girls.  Pop came and helped him also.  It turned out to be an all day job in the heat, but it was all worth it!

Hayden loves to check for eggs every day.  She gets so excited every time she finds one.  Hayden is officially in the chicken business!!!  However, she won't let us eat any off the eggs, so I have tricked her today and made one of her favorite things deviled eggs!  But we have to eat some of them or give them away!  We are running out of room in the refrigerator.  We are thinking about putting some in an incubator also!

By the way Mimi and Pop have purchased a bigger playhouse for our sweet girls, and it will have a front porch, two rooms and all kinds of other upgrades. They will be so excited when they see it all come together. Thank you so much Mimi and Pop...we all love you very much and appreciate every thing you help us do!

Sentences with Spelling Words

This week Hayden had one more homework assignment.  She had to write choose 5 words and make a complete sentence using her spelling words.  Bless her heart, she had a hard time using words that she could already spell.  She was trying to make it a lot harder than it had to be.  She also wanted to use the words from last week as the spelling word and I had to explain to her that every week she will have to learn a new set of spelling words.  This is a new adventure for her and I am so glad that she is eager to learn and wants to do more than she has to!

She ended up making 2 sentences all by herself and then I finally had to give her a few hints for the other 3.  And I do mean hints, I didn't do it for her because I want her to do it.  I told her that it will get easier every week.

She also had to write all the words 3x each and read her decodable reader book "hit it" and then do pages 5-10 in her Math Workbook.  By the way she loves to do all of her homework, but she especially loves her Math homework.  She really enjoys it and she just happens to be very good at it.

.......................................................................................................................................................................

Hayden is also selling Magazines for the school fundraiser.  Uncle Artie is her biggest supporter!  When she found out last night that he bought enough magazines for her to be able to go to the bowling party...She squealed as loud as she could and said "he is the best uncle ever"!!!  She was so excited!  Mommy and Daddy also bought quite a few this morning, so she should be set for this year!

First Test

Hayden did have her first spelling test on Friday.  I had mentioned that she was a little nervous about it when getting out of the car Friday morning.  I told her that she was going to be fine because she had studied so hard!  I couldn't wait to pick her up to see how she did, I was as anxious as she was!

Well, she got in the car very proud of herself and smiling.  So immediately I knew that she did very well but I asked her anyway and she said I got them all right and even spelled some words that I didn't even have to study for!  Bonus words, didn't know that teachers still did that!  Well, we got home and I found her spelling test in her folder and she got a 104!!!  I was so proud of her and we hung it on the fridge to show it off!

Way to go Hayden!  We love you shining star!!!

I also had a creative moment and made this to go on Gracie's shelf in her room.  She gets upset because Hayden has so many trophies and she doesn't yet!

Gracie's Party at American Girl

Today started some of the celebrating for Gracie's birthday.  She wanted an American Girl Doll that she could brush her hair, so we made reservations to eat at the Bistro and have a small birthday celebration.  Mimi, Aunt Linda, Hayden, Gracie and myself had reservations for brunch at 9:30 this morning.  The girls were so excited and of course they took McKenna and Sleeping Baby with them.  We also had cake and ice cream and they sang Happy Birthday to her, she was so cute and a little shy too!  The food was all yummy and the girls were so excited about shopping in the store.

It was crazy in the store, but Gracie managed to find the perfect doll for her and Hayden ended up getting one of the bitty babies.  Gracie picked the doll that had red hair and brown eyes, which matches her...we did not get one with curly hair because she would never be able to brush it!  She was very pleased with her first little birthday party and present!

It was a great morning and we all had lots of fun and the girls have been playing with their dolls all afternoon!!!

Proud to be a 1st Grader

To say Hayden is proud to be a 1st Grader would be a major understatement.  She makes sure to tell everyone that she is a 1st Grader.  She was trying to open some Orange Juice in the kitchen yesterday afternoon and she couldn't get it to open and she said "I am a 1st Grader now, I should be able to do this myself".  I love the independence that she has and boy does she have a lot of it!

She absolutely loves Mrs. Power and I am pretty sure that Mrs. Power loves her too!  She has had a great first week.  She does have some real homework this year, which is very exciting to her.  In fact she did all of her homework for the whole week on her first day of school.  She might be a little bit like her Mommy!  She loved doing the math homework, which again is just like Mommy.  It was always my favorite subject too.  In fact, she did all 4 worksheets the first day and begged to go ahead and do more the rest of the week.  I didn't let her go further ahead because I want her to focus on what she is supposed to do for the week!  Hopefully, she will always love homework this much, but I highly doubt that she will!  She has spelling words this year and part of homework is to write them all 3x each.  Who else remembers doing that in first grade?  I know that I do, except we had to write ours 5x each.  Don't ask me why I remember this kind of stuff but I do.  The other part of her homework is to read the little book that is sent home that goes with the spelling words for the week.  She has to read and practice her spelling words every night.  They even sent home a copy of the spelling words for the refrigerator and car.  The spelling test are every Friday.  Yes, today is her first real TEST!  Believe it or not she was so excited about it and also a little nervous.  I told her not to be nervous, she is going to pass with flying colors because she has really worked hard this week!  I can't wait to pick her up and see how it went!  I am pretty sure she will get a big 100!!!

She will also have Seniors this year.  I really love that GWA does this, it is such a great idea.  Hayden actually has 2 Seniors and both are girls.  They will give Hayden little gifts on holidays and at Christmas time they will make her a little Christmas tree and decorate it with all the things that she likes.  Then they will give it to her at the Christmas Program.  I am so excited about this too!  It is a very big deal and they all love it.  Every one should come watch this program at least one time!  Hayden will also be able to give her Seniors some gifts too.

First Grade is all new and will have lots of  "firsts" for Hayden.  She is truly going to have the most amazing year!

Dear Hayden,

We are so proud of you! You are such a beautiful, smart, angelic, independent and amazing little girl!  You are going to have so many accomplishments this year.  You are a 1st Grader now and that means you are pretty grown in your eyes!  In our eyes, you are still our blue eyed baby girl.  You are growing up so fast and you always make us the proudest Mommy and Daddy in the world.  We are so lucky that we got to be your parents.  Reach high and shine bright, shining star!  We love you to the moon and back sweet little first grader!

We love you,

Mommy and Daddy

Sweet Little Girl

Gracie has completed her week with Preschool and she had an awesome week.  Mrs. Christie tells me everyday when I pick her up that she is the sweetest little girl ever.  It makes my day to hear such nice things about my baby!

The first day of Preschool, Gracie got right out of the car and was fine, but then Tuesday and Wednesday, she insisted that she didn't want to go to school, she wanted to stay with Mommy.  I really don't know why because when you ask her if she likes school and wants to go, she says "yes".  I guess it is just part of adjusting to new teachers and a new classroom.  I don't think anyone will ever know how hard it was to watch Mrs. Sue get her out of my car, biting her bottom lip trying so hard to be a big girl and not cry.  It was one of the hardest things in the world and I drove off with tears streaming down my cheeks.  I guess Gracie is more of a big girl than Mommy!  With that being said, she is fine as soon as she gets into her classroom.  Mrs. Christie says that she recovers pretty fast from her shyness and is ready to play and do school work after that.  It melts my heart that she loves me that much, but I feel it is important for her to go to Preschool and adjust, so that she will be ready for GWA next year.  Wow that is really hard to believe, we will have 2 at GWA next year.  She is always excited when I pick her up she is standing there holding Mrs. Christie's hand just a smiling and waving. She is always very anxious to tell me all about her day.  I love the way she tells her stories, however sometimes she gets upset with me when I don't fully understand what she is trying to tell me!

Gracie,

We are so glad you had a great first week at Preschool.  We love you so much!  You are the sweetest, strongest, beautiful, smartest and amazing little girl ever.  You were such a big girl this week and you made us so very proud in every way possible.  You are also a very determined little girl and you will be great at every thing you do.  You have always been our smiling baby and we love the way you do every thing with the most beautiful smile in the world.   Your smile truly melts our hearts and always puts a smile on our faces too.  We call it the Million Dollar Smile!  You are such a sweet and content little girl and always have been.  We are so lucky that we got to be your parents.  We love you to the Moon and Back baby girl.  You will always be our little Pootie Pooh, even though you correct us and tell us that you Gracie Leigh Stancil!

We Love You,

Mommy and Daddy

Hayden is a 1st Grader!

Last night was Hayden's first Soccer practice for this season, she will be on the Orange Team and her first game will be on Saturday Sept 8th.  She looked good on the field last night, but that is no surprise. Right!  I can't wait to see how she does when they start playing real games.  Her Coach seemed to be very nice and encouraging.  I heard the Coach compliment her several times, which she would smile and twirl her ponytail(that is what she does when she gets a little nervous).   She always makes me a very proud Mommy!

Today was her first day of 1st Grade, and she was so excited about being in Mrs. Power's class this year.  She got right up and ate her breakfast and she was done getting dressed before I could even get Gracie out of the bed.  I love that she gets so excited about School!  I was the one who needed a little bit of attention this morning, as soon as she got out of the car, I cried, I don't even really know why except that I am just so proud of her!  Mimi went to the cafeteria to see her this morning and she said that she was a little bit nervous, sitting very quietly waiting to go to class.  I know that she is going to have a great day and year.  I can't wait to pick her up and hear about it, except she usually won't talk about her day until she is good and ready to.  Maybe today will be the exception and she will be ready to talk all about it!

Hayden,

We hope you have a wonderful year in 1st grade.  You are going to learn so much this year, and we will be right there with you cheering you on and supporting you in every thing you do.  We Love You to the Moon and Back baby girl.  As always you are our shining star, reach high and shine bright baby!

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, Gracie and Colton

Gracie's First Day Preschool

Gracie's First Day of Preschool was a huge success!  She wore her new dress that Aunt Linda bought her and her pink shoes, she was absolutely beautiful.  She was ready to go this morning and when she got out of the car, she never looked back.  I was a little surprised, even though I am so glad she was such a big girl.  As I watched her walk up the walk way with her purple book bag the tears started streaming down my cheeks.  Hayden was very concerned as to why Mommy was crying, so I had to explain to her that I was happy that my baby girl was being a big girl and going to school all by herself.

Hayden was so bored without Gracie at home, I thought it was funny.  She kept asking when we were going to pick her back up.  They do love each other very much.

When we picked Gracie up, she had that million dollar smile walking back down the walk way this afternoon.  She was so excited.  She had made a crown and was wearing it proudly.  Mrs. Christie put her in the car and said that she had an excellent day and that Gracie is the sweetest little girl ever.  Made my day, I mean I know that she is the sweetest little girl ever but to hear someone else say it always makes for a very proud Mommy.   Gracie is the opposite of Hayden, she couldn't wait to talk about her day.  She told me that she got to read books when she finished her lunch...she couldn't play with the toys though.  Then she said that she got to play on the playground and Mrs. Christie had to help her make her crown because it was a little bit hard for little girls to do.  Silly Girl!  She is all ready to go back again tomorrow!

Gracie Leigh,

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.  This is going to be a great year for you.  You are going to learn and accomplish so much this year and we can't wait to watch you do all of it.  You have always been our smiling baby and now you are our smiling big girl, you really do have the most beautiful smile in the world.  We love you to the moon and back little pootie pooh!!!

We love you very much,

Mommy, Daddy, Hayden and Colton

Our 1st Grader

Hayden had her Open House today at school.  I can't believe that she is really a 1st Grader!  She is no longer in the little building on the hill, which makes me a little sad. She is growing up way to fast.  She got the teacher that we wanted.  I know you are all surprised right???  Her teacher is Mrs. Powers and I think that Hayden is going to have a wonderful year with her.  She seems excited about going back to school, but as I have mentioned in the past, she doesn't want to talk about things until she is good and ready.  So when Mimi and Aunt Linda asked her about Open House today, she didn't have much to say at all.

She has lots of friends in her class from last year and a few new ones too.  She was very shy today, just like little Gracie the other day.  I guess it is better to have shy kids than wild ones.Right?  She did talk to Mrs. Powers today and she helped feed the fish in the classroom, but that was about it.  She really liked her desk, the past two years she sat at a table, this year it is her little desk but Mrs. Powers has them pushed together to look like a table.  She has books this year, or actually more like workbooks...she has a spelling workbook, phonics workbook, math workbook and one more that I can't remember the name of.  She was excited to see that she has a dry erase board, marker and eraser in her desk, she loves to play with mine at home.

I am excited for all of the things she will learn this year.  Here's to a great school year for both of my baby girls!!!

Hayden's First Slumber Party

Kierstin spent the night with Hayden last night!  Hayden was so excited and Gracie too, even though she just kind of tagged along with them!!!  Hayden has spent the night with Kierstin before but this was the first time that she has had anyone other than Gracie(heehee) spend the night at our house!

First we had Open House for Gracie and that is where we picked Kierstin up at!  Then we went to Chick-fil-a to eat and play for a while, since it is so hot.  Then we all went grocery shopping, I bet everyone is jealous and wants to spend the night with us.Right?!? We were out of all the very important things like juice boxes, trash bags and toilet paper, so it wasn't much of a choice.  They were all 4 on their best behavior at the grocery store and we were in and out of there in 30 minutes!  Yeah, that's right!  I was so proud of them and the only thing they asked for was a pack of silly straws that cost $1.

We got home and they unpacked Kierstin's suitcase and started playing with their American Girl Dolls.  I started filling up our kiddie pool for them to swim in.  They all picked out the perfect swim suit to wear for the day and got in the coldest pool ever, but it didn't seem to phase them.  Then after a little swimming they decided it was more fun to squirt each other with the water hose and they did this for approximately 3 hours.  They were having so much fun,  there was lots of giggling and squealing too.  When I asked what they wanted for dinner, Hayden said spaghetti and Kierstin said Ribs, which would have made Mark much happier except he has been getting home late and it would have been 10pm before they got to eat and trust me they don't want to eat any ribs that Mommy would cook...so Kierstin decided that she wanted spaghetti too.  They were so involved playing outside that when dinner was done, they insisted on eating outside too.  So they did and they all ate pretty good and then they were back to playing, but this time they wanted to go out in the yard.  They played and played, jumping on the trampoline, playing on the airplane and when they decided they were getting tired they were very nasty and there was a storm coming, so they took really fast shower and got all cleaned up.  Good thing we did too because we had a horrible storm that come through and it was lots of bad lightening.  Kierstin and Gracie were scared and even Colton cried when the Thunder was too loud, but we all survived even though it knocked our Internet and phone out for the rest of the night.

Finally at about 10pm, I put a movie in for the girls and they calmed down for the night.  However it was probably about 11pm before they were officially asleep but then they slept until 8am this morning!  They have played all morning in the water hose and pool.   They also make sure they take very good care of their American girl dolls, which are named Natalie, Mckenna, Summer and Sleeping baby!  Gracie has pretty much kept up with them and only cried a few times from being left out of something.  Colton has tried his best to aggravate them as much as possible!!!

Gracie, Sleeping Baby, Kierstin, Natalie, Hayden and McKenna going Night Night!

Sweet Girls!  Love the way Hayden put her arms around Kierstin and Gracie.

Aunt Linda Saves the Day and Piglet!

Tuesday, we stayed home all day because the so called weather man said that it was going to rain all day.  Well, there was no rain at my house, but that was okay because sometimes we just need some down time at home.  Aunt Linda and Grandmama called and wanted to come visit after lunch, so the girls and little man were excited.  Aunt Linda is always entertaining and the all 3 of them love Grandmama and Aunt Linda so much!

Well, when Aunt Linda and Grandmama got here, they noticed that 3 little piglets were out and one little piglet was stuck in the fence!  I hit panic mode because animals are not MY thing at all!  We all surrounded the pin and all 3 little piglets ran right back in the same hole they came out of and the other little piglet managed to squeeze its head back through the hole it was stuck in!  I must say that this pin with Wilburette and all of these piglets smells exactly like a pig pin, which makes me want to vomit!  I have a VERY weak stomach for bad smells!!!!  Also since Mark has been watering the pin for them,  every time Wilburette moved around she slung a little mud too!  Talk about my kind of adventure!  So I found some things to put in front of the hole and Aunt Linda helped me since I was having a hard time keeping down my lunch!  Problem solved and we all came in to cool off and play!  Well, Hayden and Gracie managed to talk Aunt Linda into walking down the driveway to find leaves, acorns, rocks and whatever else.  So when they opened the door to go, Aunt Linda saw one little piglet running around and around the pin, trying desperately to get back in to its Mama!

Here we go again, it what went through my mind.  Well that and What in the world was my husband thinking when he brought this wild hog home a few months ago!??!  So here is the real adventure of the day!  This time this one piglet was able to go under the door of the gate, so it couldn't get back in the same way without getting stuck and squealing like a pig!  Now I know where the saying comes from!!!  So when the piglet really got stuck and scared and wouldn't quit squealing, Aunt Linda bravely walked up to it and grabbed it to pull it out.  The first thing Aunt Linda said is "well these pigs are definitely not soft like the one in Charlotte's web."  Well, of course Wilburette charged at her and all of us because she thought we were trying to hurt her baby.  Finally Aunt Linda lifted up enough on the gate for the piglet to safely remove its head, but then we were back to trying to figure out how to get this piglet back in the pin.  So Linda walked around and around the pin and finally we realized we were going to have to catch it because it couldn't get back in.  We were too scared to open the door, all I could think was...'what if Wilburette came running out after all of us' , yes I am scared of Wilburette and really don't like to deal with her!  So I came in and got our dog crate so we could at least catch the piglet until Mark got home and then he could deal with this whole silly situation!  Well Linda chased the piglet around the pin and got splashed with more mud from the very concerned Wilburette and I had the dog crate turned the wrong way...go figure...so we started over again and Linda got a big towel and when little piglet headed her way she caught it but it slipped out as fast as it when in, so here we go again but Aunt Linda said "okay I am ready this time" so piglet came hauling hiney around the pin again and Linda CAUGHT little piglet and it was shaking its head and squealing so loudly!  Finally, we caught Piglet!

Hayden wanted to pet Piglet but decided after the way it was acting that she didn't want to get close to it, so Linda slipped it back into the pin and we put all sorts of things from around the yard in front of the door to keep the little rascal in the pin this time!  All the pigs were safe and accounted for on Farm Stancil! Talk about an exciting adventure.  Hayden is going to have lots to write and talk about when school starts next week.  I wonder what her class thinks about us and all of our silly animal adventures...I mean we have had skunks, dogs, pigs, quail, and chickens!!

Keep reading there was another post for today about my shy little Gracie Leigh!

So today we went to meet Gracie's new teachers for the year.  Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Sue were so excited to see Gracie!  However, Ms. Gracie Leigh turned very shy as soon as we entered the classroom and basically hung onto Mommy's leg.  She finally played with a few things as long as Hayden was with her, hopefully she won't be as shy on Monday...I think a lot of it was because there were so many parents and grandparents in the room, it was just overwhelming for my little shy bug!  She is going to have a wonderful year and hopefully overcome some of her shyness this year!  Gracie did know a lot of the boys and girls in her class, but she wouldn't really talk to them today.   It is nice that a lot of the siblings of Hayden's class are in Gracie's class, that way all of us parents know each other too!  My girls are making some really wonderful friends!

Hayden really enjoyed getting to see Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Sue, she even remembered all the things in the classroom, like the weather center and block station.  It was cute to see her tell Gracie all the things she would get to do this year!

This is what Gracie thought about Open House!

A little smile!

Shoe Fittings for Ballet

Yesterday, we went to our shoe fittings for ballet!  Both of my girls are doing it at the same place this year, so it was exciting to watch little Gracie try on stuff too.  Ms. Marie, had Hayden go right back and try on her new leotard and skirt and then it was Gracie's turn.  Ms. Charlotte made sure that everything fit perfectly and wrote down exactly what size they needed in both on their sheet.  Then they both tried on ballet shoes and tap shoes.  They had a whole little shoe department set up in the back and made sure that the shoes were just right too!  This year is Ms. Charlotte's 50th year of dance........so their new outfits for weekly classes are going to be black and gold, pink tights and black shirt.  They will look adorable.

Gracie is so excited about doing ballet and tap this year!  I can't wait to see what this year will bring out in her as she is turning into a big girl so fast!

They start classes the week of Sept 10th!

Parent Meeting for Gracie

Yesterday was our parent meeting with Gracie's Preschool and teachers this year.  She is going to be in Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Sue's class...which were the same teachers Hayden had in 3 year preschool.  We are so excited about this year.  She is going to love Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Sue!  This year she can do carpool, which is what I am most excited about.  For those of you that don't know, I had to walk Gracie in every morning and walk in to get her every afternoon last year with Colton...so this year they will get her out and she will walk in all by herself.  She seems to be very excited about everything!  She goes on Wednesday to meet her teachers and new friends.  The other good thing is that about 6 of the little ones that were in her class last year will be in her class this year too!  Looking forward to a great school year!

Catching up!

Well, once again I have gotten behind on updating the blog.  So here is a quick catch up before we start having really busy weeks again.

Last week was kind of calm.  I got both girls signed up for Ballet and Tap this year.  Gracie is so excited.  They go for their shoe fittings tomorrow!

Last Monday was Hayden's Soccer tryouts and as always she was amazing and showed out.  She looked like a pro!  I don't know yet which team she is on...I guess we will find out next week.

I have bought all the stuff for Gracie's 4th Birthday Party.  We are having a Pool party at Aunt Kim and Uncle Artie's house.  Thanks for letting us use the pool!  She is so excited...she picked a purple party with purses, lipstick and fingernail polish on the plates.  She is getting so big!

This week is our last week at home, we have lots of different things going on.  Gracie has open house Wednesday to meet her teachers and new friends.  Hayden has open house on Friday!  Then it is going to be back to getting up early, going to school, soccer practices and ballet/tap class every week.  I am actually looking forward to all of it and so are they!
