What a Night

Well, this week has definitely been different.  Monday Gracie had a T Ball game but it was so cold and windy we decided to skip it.  Hayden had a Softball game last night but because she plays 3rd base she had to be there.  We literally almost froze.  It took an hour for my toes to turn back the normal color.  Hayden was so cold but she tried so hard to make good throws and big hits.  Her hands were purple and freezing but she still made good throws and did it smiling.  She didn't get as big of hits as she usually does but she said that is because her hands were so cold that when she hit the ball hard it would sting.  Hopefully, this really, really cold weather is gone.

Gracie was supposed to have her Easter party today at Preschool.  Hayden was also supposed to have a dress rehearsal for her play and an Easter egg hunt today.  However, we didn't make it to any of that because they have the stomach bug.  Yes!  the awful, awful stomach bug.  It started with Gracie at 1:30am, then Hayden at 2:00am and then Mark at 5am.  We were up all night because Gracie still can't make it to the bathroom it makes for lots and lots of cleaning.  I have washed just about every sheet, comforter and blanket in the house.  I have mopped, scrubbed potties and sinks.  I have been spraying lysol on anything and every thing they touch.  Colton seems okay but he was a little bit sick last week, so hopefully he won't catch the vomiting part.   So far I am good and I hope that I stay that way.  I certainly don't have time to be sick!  Not at all how I planned on spending the day but am hoping that they are 100% better tonight and in the morning.

We will have to see how the day goes to decide whether Hayden gets to perform in her play tomorrow.  I certainly don't want anyone else to have this crud.

Last Friday was Grandparent's Day at GWA.  Mimi and Pop were there to celebrate with Hayden.  Aunt Linda and Grandmama also came to celebrate.  I wasn't there but I hear it was lots of fun and they got a very, very special cook book.  I am so glad that my little girl has such wonderful, loving Grandparent's.  She loves you all and was so excited that you were there with her.

Hayden also had a spend the night party at a friend's house Saturday night.  It was a wild party because she stayed up until 4am and was pretty tired when she got home. However, Mimi and Hayden had plans to go watch a play about Horton hears a Who with the same friend she spent the night with and her Grandparents and a few other girls in her class.  She was exhausted when she got home Sunday night.

Game Ball for Hayden

Guess who got the game ball last night????  Hayden did!!!  She had an awesome game.  They actually lost but I am convinced it was due to several bad calls.  I told Hayden that it is okay because all she can do is always try her best.  She is doing very good at 3rd base.  She listens and does as she is told and she had some pretty amazing hits last night too.  Good Job Hayden!!!  We love you to the moon and back!

Gracie had Spring pictures at school a couple of weeks ago.  I was so worried about the dress that I ended up picking out for her to wear.  However, it was the perfect dress for the background.  She was all smiles and it is my absolute favorite picture of her so far.  She is my beautiful, curly headed and smiling baby!

Colton loves to help grocery shop especially if it gets to ride in the back of the buggy!  He is such a little ham!

My girls are always making me laugh and surprising me.  Last Friday they were playing dress up and catching lizards at the same time.  Hayden was the one that caught it and Gracie really didn't even want to touch it but she was ready to strike a pose for a picture.

Big Hits

The Ducks had a great game tonight.  They won 12-10!!!!   Hayden had some awesome throws from 3rd base for 2 outs at 1st.  She also ran home and stopped the other team from scoring.  She amazes me sometimes.  She had some really awesome hits too.  The first hit, she actually hit one of the girls on the other team.  I know it hurt because she nailed the ball.  The little girl was crying and wanted off the field.  Hayden did feel bad about it, she is my sweet girl.  Always concerned about other people.  The next hit was a big hit, she got a triple and several scored, in fact they could have scored more off of that great hit except they are only allowed 5 runs in an inning.  Can you tell I am a proud Mommy???  I can't help it, watching her makes me so proud that sometimes I find that I have tears in my eyes.  Probably sounds silly but I do.  It is even better when she comes back in the dug out and makes sure that she gets my good job and high fives and gives me that sweet toothless smile.  She is really enjoying it this year and she is so proud of herself too.  GO DUCKS!  GO HAYDEN #1!!!

Thank you Pop and Aunt Kim for watching the Colt Man for me.  Thanks to Mimi for making sure that Gracie Leigh made it to ballet tonight.  I don't know what we would do without y'all!

That is all for tonight.  This Mommy is tired but I think Hayden is still excited about her big game.   Hopefully, she will go to sleep soon!

Reading, Reading and More Reading

Hayden has been reading lots and lots of books.  She reads at home, in the car and on even on my ipad.  She has been reading The Magic Treehouse Books, Junie B. Jones books and Fancy Nancy.  There are several others too but these seem to be her favorites.  She is really into the Junie B Jones books this week, she has done very well with them too.  She has already read two this week and today is just Thursday.  When we got to school Tuesday morning, I told her to put the book up and get her jacket and book bag on.  She kept reading...I told her again...Hayden please put the book up.  Well, finally Mr. Cloud, the lower school principal opened the door to help her out and once again I had to tell her...Hayden put the book up now.  She finally did!  Mr. Cloud was laughing and he said "Wow that is a first, someone actually has to make their child stop reading".  I just laughed and felt really good that she enjoys reading so much.  Yesterday she checked out another Junie B Jones book from the library and she finished it last night.  She read in the chair in the living room, in her room and even in the bathroom until she was done.  Silly Girl!

Pajama Day / Haircut / Softball

Today was Pajama Day at Preschool.  Gracie wore a gorgeous Princess nightgown with leggings, since it was a little bit chilly / windy today.  She was Princess Gracie.  She also wore her house coat instead of her jacket today and of course, we had to have pigtails.  What can I say, she knows how to have a great pajama day.  She had a good day and was ready to tell me all about it when I picked her up.

Colton had his 2nd haircut yesterday.  He did so good and he looks so big and handsome.  I also took my cousin Kelli with me so that she could help me with him while I got my hair fixed too.  It was a huge help and he was a good little man.   Ms. Belinda even gave him his first spike!   Love this little boy so much!

Hayden had another game last night.  Lets just say Hayden Stancil was on fire!  She made 2 outs at 3rd base, 1 out at home and threw one ball from 3rd base to 1st base and got an out there too!  She hit very well all 3 times too.  I am so proud of my little Softball Player!  She was so excited that one very important man made it to her game last night too...her Daddy!!!  Good Job Sweet Girl.  Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

Beautiful Day

Sunday was a beautiful day!  We had ball pictures at 1 and 1:30 for the girls and then we came back home and played outside.  Well, at first Mark and the kids were playing outside while I did all the Mommy stuff....like getting book bags ready, lunches ready, washing clothes and unloading dishwasher.  Although, it was easier with every one out of the house.  Then I went outside and sat in the sunshine.  Gracie was driving Colton around in their new car and he was laughing and so excited.  It was like music to our ears.  Hayden finally joined them in the back of the car, she is really too big but she still had fun.  Gracie drives like a crazy person but she seems to be pretty good at it.  She looks so cute driving around the yard.  Colton holds on as tight as possible!

I also made these and thought they were pretty cute.  I know there will be lots more pictures of them playing Softball this year.  I have got to start that scrapbook for them as soon as possible.  I want to do something really special for them.

Proud, Proud Mommy and Daddy

Hayden and Gracie both had their first games yesterday!  It was such a beautiful day to spend at the ball field.

Hayden's game was first and her team had a great game.  Hayden had two really good hits and she ended up having to hit off the T the last time, but that is okay.  She had 4 or 5 run in off of her hits, which made her Coach happy!  Hayden is such a good little player, sometimes I don't even think she realizes how good she is.  She made some excellent throws from 3rd base to 1st base and she almost got an out at 2nd base.  She didn't realize she had to tag the runner instead of getting to the base first.  That's okay though, now she knows.  It isn't something that they have been practicing.  They WON 18-7 and they were so excited!   I have to admit I had so much fun watching them play!  Thanks to Mimi, Pop, Kim, Artie, Grandmama and Linda for helping watch Gracie and Colton so I could do my dug out Mom duties!  I so appreciate it!!!

We all went to eat pizza after Hayden's game, since we were waiting for Gracie's game to start.  Gracie was getting a little nervous, but I kept telling her she would have fun!  After lunch we were back at the ball field ready to go.

Gracie's team is the Giants.  They don't keep score in T Ball...basically all the team hits and runs bases and then they swap up.  That's okay because I think that is the perfect speed for Gracie at this point.  Gracie looked as if she was going to cry in the dug out, but I kept making her get ready.  Once she got up to hit, she was fine and she ran those bases like a champ.  When she came back in, I was ready and waiting for high fives and telling her how so very proud I am of her.  That is a really big deal for her.  She also got a little action in the field, thanks to the nice coach that told her what to do.  It made me feel so good for someone to try to teach her what the purpose was.  The second time she hit, it was a really good hit or at least that is what I was told.  I was trying to put a helmet on one of the other kids and missed it, but I didn't tell her that.  I was ready and waiting again when she came back in and this time she was all smiles and excited.  I am so, so happy she liked it and had fun!  I have to admit I was a little worried, I never know what she is going to do but she is just like Hayden she always surprises me and conquers those fears!  I love my girls so much and I truly am so very proud of them.  Thanks again to all of our wonderful family for helping watch Coltona and Hayden while I stayed in the dug out with my baby girl!

Good Job Girls!  Mommy and Daddy love you to the Moon and Back!  Remember always aim high and reach for those stars babies!!!

Grand Slam

Yesterday, Hayden's coach called to tell me that we would be having a scrimmage game at practice.  He said that every one is talking about the cannon of an arm that Hayden has.  It makes me so proud to hear that!  He told her to be ready!   Ready is what she was!  She played great in the field, she got to the ball and threw it straight to first base with no problems.  I felt so good watching her and all the other parents were telling her what a great job she was doing.  The whole team did great.  I think we are going to have a great season this year!  Then it was time to hit.  The first time Hayden hit she popped it right in the air and it landed right behind first base, she got out but it was still an awesome hit!  The next time she hit, she got a GRAND SLAM, the whole team was excited!  She didn't even know what she had done, she just knew it was a a home run, so I explained it to her on the way home.  You should have heard her when we got home and she got to tell her Daddy all about it.   I love watching her play ball and I can't wait until Saturday to watch both my girls play!

Silly Boy

Well, it has been a good week for us.  We did skip T Ball practice last night because it was just too windy and cold.  Hayden has practice tonight and Gracie has ballet.  I am getting so excited about Saturday and watching my girls play ball.  I hope Gracie doesn't get really shy and decided she isn't going to play.  Hayden is ready!

Colton is a silly, silly boy.  He loves to pose for the camera now.  He also says Cheese for every picture.
He is such little dare devil and always getting into stuff.  He gets chairs, stools from the bathroom or anything else he can find to stand on and carries them all over the house to stand on to get to other things.  So now when I see him with a chair, I tell him NO NO and he starts to cry and stomp, yes stomp his feet at me.  I told him, too bad son I have figured you out. (HaHa)  Last night he somehow managed to get out of his secured high chair and crawl across the kitchen counter to get a different sippy cup.  When I saw this I very calmly walked over and grabbed him.  I was afraid if I spoke he would get scared and fall!  He is so smart and copies every thing anybody does.  I love my babies so much!

My girls are both #1 this year!

Circus 2013

Mimi and Pop took all of us to the Circus yesterday!  We got there early, so we were able to see some of the pre show.  They got to see an elephant named Katie.  Katie could paint, shoot basketball and play the harmonica.  The kids were amazed.  Then we went to our seats and while we waited on the show to start Aunt Kim bought the girls snow cones.  Colton shared with them and he thought they were pretty good too.  Of course, the girls loved theirs.  It is one of their favorite things.  Pop also bought some cotton candy later and it came with a cute circus hat.  Colton and Gracie decided that they are not fans of cotton candy, I can't blame them...I don't even like to smell the stuff.  It is disgusting!  Colton loved the animals and the motorcycles.  Gracie said the clowns were her favorite part.  Hayden liked the lions and the girls flying in the sky the best.  Their faces were priceless during the show.  I had the most fun just sitting back and watching them and their faces.  Colton was such a good boy, he sat with Pop for most of the show.  He got a little restless by the end but overall he was very well behaved!  Hayden and Gracie also made they got a souvenir on the way out.  They both got a really pretty unicorn / horse...I really don't know which one it is!  It was a fun time and we all enjoyed it.

Hayden has loved pretending to be a clown and even though Gracie wouldn't put the hat or nose on yesterday, she has been wearing all afternoon today.
