Easter 2014

Friday night we colored Easter eggs.  It is a tradition and is a must do every year.  This year I found the most amazing kind.  You don't need vinegar or water.  All you need is the eggs...you put them in a bag and squeeze 3 drops of coloring on them and they are done.  The kids really enjoyed them and the eggs turned out pretty good.  The best part....no mess for Mommy!

Sunday morning the girls got up around 8am and came to get us up.  I made them wait until I was ready with the camera. I know it is kind of mean but pictures tell stories!  They were so excited about all of their goodies.  It is so funny how candy can be so very exciting when you get to eat it for breakfast.  Hayden got a ring, necklace and a fairy that flies.  Gracie got a necklace, fairy and twirling ribbon to dance with.  Colton got lots and lots of cars, bubbles and play doh.  Yes, the Easter bunny bought play doh.  Doesn't he know I hate that stuff????  Oh well it only lasted about 10 minutes and he had mixed all of his chocolate Cadbury egg in with it.  After that the play doh landed right in the trash can!

We got all our angels dressed up and ready to show off.  That is the purpose in dressing up. Right?  We took the to see Mema, Nana and Randy first.  Of course, they all thought they were beautiful and handsome.  Boys are not beautiful by the way and they are not pretty.  They are handsome.  I had to correct my Mema on these sayings.

Then it was off to Grandmama's house for the annual Easter lunch and Egg hunt.  The food was yummy as always.  It was fun catching up with some of the family we don't see as much.  The kids always have fun playing with their cousins.  They all loved the Easter egg hunt.  Colton got the prize golden egg for the young ones.  I am pretty sure he doesn't understand it but we were excited for him.  He has really, really enjoyed all of his candy though.  Hayden, Gracie and Katelyn had their own Easter egg hunt this year.  It is hard to believe they are the older ones now.  They are growing up way too fast.  Hayden found the prize golden egg out of the three.  The smile on her face was priceless when she picked it up.   Katelyn was extremely disappointed that she didn't get it but she took it well.  Gracie was pretty happy just digging through what she had already collected.

It was such a great day and we were all really tired on the way home.  Colton and Gracie were asleep by 7:30 last night!

Softball and Gracie's Play

Softball has been going great!  Hayden has had lots of amazing throws for outs at first, big hits and even caught several fly balls for outs!  I love watching her play ball, she just has some natural talent!  She received the game ball a couple of weeks ago.  She was so excited and I even got a real smile from her for my picture.  She does this fake smile thing a lot that looks so silly but when you catch a picture with her real smile it is always gorgeous!

One of Hayden's biggest fans always makes sure that he is at the games, even when his back hurts so very bad.  That is how much he loves her!

Gracie had her play at school last week.  She was sick the first two days of practice but that didn't stop her on performance day.  She was a little confused but only I noticed it.  She said her two parts with lots of pride and confidence.  She sang her little heart out on all the songs.  She was the most adorable purple flower in the world.  I love how much self confidence she has gained this year. Don't get me wrong she is still very shy but boy is she coming around.  She has also mastered the monkey bars and flipping on the trapeze bar on the swing set.  These are two things I didn't think Gracie would ever be interested in boy did she surprise me.  She is so very proud of the callus she has on her hands.  She shows them to Mark every night to prove to him she is getting tough!

There will be a big Easter post later today or first thing in the morning!
