Home Sweet Home

We all came home yesterday and baby Colton seems to really like his new home.   He really, really likes his new swing.  He has been doing a whole lot of sleeping, eating and pooping but that is what babies are supposed to do. Right?  We all love him so much and are so excited that he is here now!  Hayden and Gracie are the best two big sisters in the whole wide world, just ask anybody who has seen them with their brother.

Happy Birthday Colton

Well yesterday was the day that our perfect little boy decided he wanted to be his birthday.  I knew I was in labor all day, but I still had that unsure feeling about it.  I had a dr appt at 4pm so I just counted contractions.  They were unsteady all day but they were coming every 6-10 minutes. This was new for me being that with Hayden she broke my water and with Gracie I was induced, so I was very uncomfortable all day.

On my way to the dr office, I just really knew that my baby boy was coming, so I called Mark and asked him to leave as soon as possible, being that it takes 3 hours for him to get home.  When I got to Dr. Garrett's office, she was at the hospital delivering another baby, so I had to wait which almost drove Mark crazy...he kept texting me and I would tell him that I still hadn't seen Dr. Garrett yet.  Well, the new midwife that she has hired came in to check me and said that I was measuring 39 weeks and I was dilated to a 5 and 60% effaced and was in active labor...so she went to get Dr. Garrett to confirm her diagnosis and Dr. Garrett agreed, she stripped the membranes and sent me straight to the hospital.  The funny part was that I drove myself to the hospital and checked myself in.  It was really weird being all by myself but I knew Mark was about an hour out.  Thank goodness Mimi and Pop came to the hospital to keep me company while waiting on Mark... Aunt Linda went to my Mom's to pick the girls up, so that my Mom could come to the hospital.

At 10:45pm the most handsome little boy ever entered the world and our lives.  He is perfect and he was 8lbs 15oz and 21 inches long,  yes I did deliver him all the nurses at the hospital were amazed.  He is PERFECT and HEALTHY!  After the delivery my placenta would not release, so for another hour Dr. Garrett and Dr. Lee worked and worked trying to get it out and finally they couldn't leave it any longer and I had to go to surgery for a D & C for them to make sure they got everything out.  It was the scariest feeling leaving my husband and newborn son in the room to go off to surgery but I didn't really get a choice.  The surgery went fine and ended up in recovery about 1:30am and stayed there until about 3:45am.  I am not going to lie, I was in extreme pain, in fact I was in so much pain I was crying.  They gave me several different pain medicines and it still hurt but it was bearable.  Finally at 4am we were in a real room and Colton slept like an angel for Mommy and Daddy, which was very nice to get a little bit of sleep before starting at 6am with nurses and labs.  Oh well at least we have all been able to nap on and off today.

Mimi brought Hayden and Gracie this morning to visit their little brother.  They were so excited!  Hayden held him for a really long time and Gracie held him for just a minute...she still can't be completely trusted.  It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen to watch my three babies love on each other.  Mark and I are truly blessed with our 3 angels, they are our world!!!  Hayden and Gracie are ready for Colton to come home a play, I thought it was cute.

Dr. Beeber also came this morning and confirmed that Colton is a big, healthy boy!  He couldn't believe that he was 2 weeks early and weighed 9lbs. He said that he is a Healthy little boy.

Recital 2011

Hayden had her recital Saturday and today!  She did AWESOME, my shy little girl was actually the leader...I was so proud of her, in fact I think I might have cried most of the time.  She wasn't nervous at all!  She was beautiful and elegant while dancing around on the stage.   She really does enjoy ballet and if I say so myself she is very good at it.

Hayden,

We are so proud of you.  You are truly an amazing little girl, that always puts a smile on our faces and makes each and every day wonderful.  We love you more than you will ever know!!!

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, Gracie and Colton

Fun Wednesday!

Yesterday morning I had to take Gracie to see Aunt Kim, she was complaining of a sore throat and had a fever of 102.6.  Aunt Kim said that her throat looked pretty bad so she ended up on an antibiotic.  She was a good girl and let Kim look at her and then she wanted princess stickers for being a good girl!  Then we came home and washed some clothes, basically I am trying really hard to keep everything clean and caught up so that when Colton makes his arrival, there won't be stuff everywhere that needs to be done!

We went back to pick Hayden up at lunch and then we met Mimi and Kim at the Mirko's.  It was really good, but who am I kidding I really just love pasta!  Then the girls went to Kim's to play while Mimi and I went to look at my pregnancy pictures I had done last week.  They turned out really good and we should get them next week!  Then we went back to get Kim and the girls and headed to get a much needed PEDICURE.  I think it was the most relaxed I have felt in a very long time, I really could have went to sleep!  Hayden and Gracie both got their toenails painted and have a flower on their big toe.  Gracie wasn't sure about it for a long time but we finally convinced her to do it and now she is so proud of her toes!  Hayden got blue polish and Gracie got purple, I know it sounds horrible but they are both actually adorable!  Thanks Mimi and Aunt Kim for treating us girls to a wonderful, relaxing pedicure!!!

After getting my pedicure I hit the nesting mode again, when we got home I cleaned out my extremely nasty car...and I do mean extremely nasty car!  I could not believe some of the things my perfect little girls have left for me to find!  It could still use a good detail and carpet cleaning, but at least it is clean!  Now we can put Colton's seat in the car!  I think we are ready...my bags are packed, Mark's bag is packed,  the girls' bags are packed and baby Colton's bag is packed too!  The yard is cut and clean, the house is clean and the car is clean...so anytime you are ready baby boy!!!

Dr. Appt 37 Weeks

Well it is official baby Colton could make his arrival any day now!  My dr appointment was much better this week, my blood pressure was great and I only gained the 1lb I was supposed to.  Dr. Garrett says that I actually measure 38 weeks this time which is good and that baby Colton is in position and getting ready!  I felt really good after the appointment.   I really like the nurse practioner but it is always great to see the for real doctor.  I guess we will have to wait and see what day Colton would like his birthday to be!

Welcome Home Pop

My Pop was released from the nursing home on Saturday, he was there to get therapy to help him learn to cope with this disease he has been diagnosed with.  He is still a little confused but very glad to be back home.  We all had a family dinner yesterday to welcome him home and I think he enjoyed everyone being there even though we have a few loud mouths that never hush!  He was so funny because he told my Aunt that I sure was getting big!  He was also very proud to know that Colton's middle name is Shepherd, we have told him before but he didn't remember.

I also heard from my doctor's office this afternoon and all of my blood work came back fine.  I guess that means that the high blood pressure was officially from that very nutritious McDonalds lunch I ate on the way there...Oops!  I go tomorrow for my check up this week and I am anxious to see what she has to say.  I am supposed to see Dr. Garrett tomorrow, she is the main doctor, and we will see how far along we are from last week!  I have been having lots of contractions, in fact last night they were pretty steady for about an hour and then they slacked off.

Ballet Rehearsal and TBall Party

Yesterday was ballet rehearsal and T Ball party.  Now you can see just how busy we have been!  Hayden was gorgeous in her ballet outfit...she has to wear her hair in a bun and lots of makeup including red lipstick, which at first I was totally against but it did look cute on her.  I personally think she is way to pretty for any kind of makeup but I remember when my Mama used to tell me the same thing.  Thank goodness she is still way to little to think about wearing more than just for a recital!!!  I wasn't allowed to see anything this year as far as practice or rehearsal goes, so everything next Saturday and Sunday will be a huge surprise.  I must say I am very anxious to see what all the secrets are about!!!  Every time I ask her she tells me "I can't tell you it is a surprise".  After the rehearsal she had pictures made and she didn't even want me to come in the room with her, she is such a big girl...hopefully she smiled pretty!

As soon as we were finished with pictures we had to meet Mark and Gracie at the T Ball party.  They had it at the Bold Springs Park.  They had pizza, cake and cupcakes for lunch.  Then they got to run free and play hard.  It wasn't to hot yet so it was a nice day to enjoy the park.  She also got her trophy, it is a glove and she can sit her game ball in it.  She did such an amazing job this year...I can't wait until next year, when it is a little more competitive.

Hayden you are such a talented little girl.  We love you so much and are so proud of all of your accomplishments this year and there has been a lot of them!!!

Here is a little sneak peek as to what she will look like at the recital!

Field Day K4 2011

Friday was Hayden's first real Field Day at school.  They have a much better field day than anything I used to have in school.  There were 20 different stations set up for them to do.  Hayden's favorite one was when the fire men soaked all the kids with the fire hose.  She absolutely loved it.  All the other kids were complaining about being cold afterwards, but not Hayden...she wanted to do it again...she loves water!   She had a great time and the weather was perfect for field day, it didn't get to awfully hot until it was over..thank goodness...I didn't say much but it was truly very hard for me,  my leg hurts so bad where baby Colton is on my nerves that I can hardly walk, but it was worth it because it made my little girl so very happy that I was there.  I can't believe that K4 is almost over and she will be K5, a real Kindergartner next year.  After we finished with field day we ate at chick-fil-a and a lot of friends from school were there so we spent a good hour and half eating and talking about the school year.  Of course the kids all played in the inside playground.  Then we went to the grocery store and Nana's to pick up Gracie.  It was a good day...Just a Mommy and Hayden day!  Sometimes she gets jealous because Gracie gets to be with me all the time.  We had fun and she is such a big help.

I'm A Little Teapot

Thursday was Hayden's play at GWA called "Lemonade".  She was the little teapot and of course as always she was the prettiest one on stage.  She did great with her lines and sang her little heart out on all of the songs.  I was so proud of her, she worked very hard on her lines and we have been listening to the Lemonade CD in the car for a month.  She was even more excited because Pop was able to come to this one.  After the play some of the Mom's had a Lemonade stand set up, so we all enjoyed a cup of lemonade and cookies.  We are so proud of you sweet girl and you were absolutely the cutest teapot ever!!!!

It was really hot when we got home Thursday, so I got their kiddie pool out and cleaned it up so they could swim.  I also set a sprinkler up in the yard with the swing set.   They were so excited, in fact Hayden's exact words were "this is the best day ever Mommy".   It makes me feel so good when I make them feel that way.  I told Mark they have enjoyed this little pool and sprinkler as much as if they had a big pool and the best part is that Mommy gets to sit in the swing with the fan blowing on me!

Dr Appt Week 36

Today was my week 36 doctor appointment and everything went well.  My blood pressure was a little high so she did a little blood work to make sure everything is good, but she said that it was probably from the McDonalds lunch I had on the way there.  Anyways, we will just have to wait and see.  Baby Colton is still hanging in there, he isn't quite ready to make his entrance, and I am okay with that.  Although I am totally miserable and hurt all over I know it is best for him to stay a little longer.  Hopefully after this week everything will calm down a little.  Hayden's play is tomorrow at school and then she has Ballet rehearsal Saturday morning.  It is all coming to an end and I think we are all ready for it.  Everybody is tired and worn out.  It is certainly time for some sleeping late, or for the girls anyway....I am sure Colton will have a different opinion once he arrives for Mommy.

Mother's Day 2011

I have to start out by saying that I am the luckiest Mommy in the world.  God has blessed me with two amazing little girls and a little boy on the way.  I love my kids more than anything in the world and the amazing man in my life that I call my husband!  Yesterday morning, Hayden told Mark that I needed to go out to eat for every meal so that I didn't have to clean up.  Cleaning up has become very  hard and frustrating for me, being that I can't bend over anymore and everything pretty much hurts.  Hayden made me a flower pot at school that is just simply beautiful and she gave me some flower seeds to plant in it.  She also says that I am the best Mommy in the world because I take her swimming.  She also made Mark a Father's Day present...it is a rock that she painted and it says "My Dad Rocks"  she was so proud of her gifts, and personally that is what makes them so special!

Sunday morning we slept late, then got dressed to go to Athens.  We got letters to spell Colton's name over the changing table and then we ate at Carabbas, which was absolutely delicious.  After that we did a little more shopping and then came back home.  I got my gift that Hayden picked out all by herself, it was a T shirt that says New Mom and a Disney glassses case.  She was so excited!  Of course I loved it!  The girls and Mark played outside for a little while and then we made homemade ice cream and got ready for bed.  It was a wonderful Mother's Day and I felt very loved and appreciated.

Thank you babies for the best Mother's Day ever!  I love you very much!

Colton's Baby Shower

Thanks to Mimi and Aunt Kim, I had a wonderful baby shower Saturday.  I think almost everyone that was invited was came, it was really great to see some of my really old friends.  I got some really great presents and now I am more anxious than ever to meet my sweet baby boy!  I think baby Colton has plenty of clothes between all of the super cute clothes I got yesterday and Stephanie and Michelle letting me borrow their little boy clothes, baby Colton should be set!  I would like to give Aunt Kim a really special Thank you because the shower was great and the food was awesome.  She worked really hard on everything and I so appreciate it.  I think besides washing all of his new stuff, bottles, and packing my bag(his is already packed) I should be ready.  I go to the doctor Wednesday and I guess we will find out then what she thinks about his arrival.  Mimi, Pop, Kim and Artie gave me my car seat and stroller(since Hayden and Gracie's were pink) and once it gets here...we are cleaning the car up and putting it in!  Thanks again to everyone for coming and for all the great gifts.  Oh and we all forgot to take pictures, somehow we are slipping, we used to look like the paparazzi everywhere we went.

First Kiss

Today when I picked Hayden up from school, she got in the car all giggles and told me that Jay kissed her today!  I asked "where did he kiss you at"  she replied " on the lips".  I started laughing and immediately called her Daddy.  He was really busy at work, but his reaction was just as I thought..."WHAT".  I told him they sure do start early now...I mean 5 years old. Really?  When she told Gracie about it she replied with "gross".  Oh well, I guess I should write this in her baby book. Right?

We have two more TBall games, one tonight and the last one on Saturday.  I have my baby shower on Saturday which I am so excited about, must admit I think I am more excited about all the yummy food Kim told me she was fixing.  I can't wait to get everything completely ready for Colton.  Next week we have two more tennis lessons and her final play at school "Lemonade".  Then all we have left is ballet rehearsal and recital and I think we are done for the Summer.  Then it is time for Baby Colton unless he decides to make his arrival a little early, which my Mom and Mark swear that I will never make it to June.  I guess we will see next Wednesday at my doctor appointment.
