Crawling

Gracie started crawling today. She is doing the army crawl, but it counts as crawling. It is so cute. She was all over the living room today. Of course, while I was typing this post she surprised me and traveled into the bedroom. She already loves to go over to the TV and try to get all of Hayden's stuff. She heard the word NO more today than ever before.

Smile

We were getting ready to leave the house this morning when I realized that everyone had on blue outfits, so of course I had to take a picture. It is hard to get everyone to look and smile at the same time, but today I got very lucky. This may be one of my favorite pictures (of course I have lots of favorite pictures).

Gracie decided to show off a little today. She wanted to say Hello to everyone!!!

They are just soooo cute. Mommy loves you!!!

Saturday Mornings

Every Saturday morning Hayden cuts the grass with her Daddy. He listens to his iPod and she listens to my iPod. The ear pieces will not stay in her little ears, so he wraps a head band around her ears. She loves spending time with Daddy.

Playing

Hayden loves to play with Gracie in the floor. They like to read books and roll around in the floor. Sometimes they get a little rough. I think Gracie might be a little bit rougher than Hayden. Hayden tries to read books to her and she just tries to eat the pages. Hayden will patiently say "no, no Gracie that is not very nice". They currently have 47 books in the floor they are working on. This is going to work out fine until Gracie finally figures out how to crawl.See how much they love each other. They are so sweet.

When They Met

I have posted a picture to the right called When They Met. It is a very special picture to Mark and I. Mark wanted me to write about this because it is a very important part of us.

Hayden was diagnosed with a brain mass on August 21, 2008. I was 9 months pregnant with Gracie and so scared for both my babies. Hayden was sent to Children's Healthcare to get the best care. They did surgery immediately after discovering the mass and she spent a week in the hospital and came home on two antibiotics through a pic line. After being home for a couple of days we realized she had a rash, so immediately we took her to our pediatrician. They decided to take her off the antibiotics to figure out which one was causing the reaction. After being off the antibiotics for a couple of days she had what they think was another seizure and ended back at the hospital on September 1, 2008.

In the meantime my doctor had scheduled me for induction on September 2, 2008, needless to say I was very upset and didn't know what to do. I didn't have a choice but to go and have my new precious baby, but we were not sure how to leave Hayden at the hospital. It was definetly the hardest thing we have ever had to do.

We had Mimi stay with Hayden at the hospital and knew she was in excellent care. It was hard being so excited about a new baby and scared for our other child. After arriving at the hospital that morning they got started and by 1:02pm we had a healthy 8lb 8oz baby Gracie. Gracie is still the most patient and content baby ever. She loves her big sister more than anything and Hayden is like her second Mommy, she helps do everything (even change diapers).

Hayden and Gracie both came home from the hospital on September 4, 2008. Hayden was very tired and confused when she got home but as soon as she saw Gracie in the swing she was fine. It was love at first sight.

We thank God everyday for our blessings and for two healthy beautiful girls.

Tired

Grandmama made a blanket for Hayden before she was born. Hayden loves this blanket more than anything. She named her blanket Tired. When she first started talking she kept telling me she wanted tired, it took me a little while to figure out it was her soft blanket. She has strings on this blanket that she tickles her nose with and sucks her thumb until she falls asleep. Tired is now falling apart, not sure what will happen when it is finally gone.

She finally let me wash tired this week and after it was good and clean I got a great picture outside while I was watering the flowers and garden.

Swimming

Hayden and Gracie love to swim. Hayden is like a little fish in the water and Gracie just likes to splash around. We bought Gracie her own little pool so that Hayden would have plenty of room to swim. She can slide down the slide and pick all the rings up without coming up for air. She usually does this until she is so tired she has to take a little nap (as she calls it). We decided that Hayden does not need swimming lessons this year, she has pretty much taught herself to swim in the bathtub over the winter.

Once Gracie really starts crawling, we might have a problem with her in the pool. I have a feeling she will be into everything. She really enjoys watching her big sister. She thinks Hayden is hilarious.

Blogging

Well I finally decided that we need to start blogging with the rest of the world. I figure this is a great way to keep up with all of my babies accomplishments. I am a little behind now that Hayden is 3 years old and Gracie is almost 9 months, but I think Hayden and Gracie will enjoy reading one day.
