Gracie Lost her First Tooth

Gracie has had a loose tooth for a couple of months now, but unlike Hayden she isn't obsessed with pulling teeth.  She was a little unsure of the whole process.  Well, yesterday I noticed that her permanent tooth was already coming in behind her loose baby tooth.  Her tooth was also so loose that I was afraid it was going to come out and she might swallow it.  How in the world would you explain that one?

Hayden had a game last night and I told Gracie while we were there to just keep wiggling that tooth.  She must have listened because when we got home last night it was ready to come out.  For those of you that know my sweet Gracie know that she doesn't like to do anything she isn't ready to do.  That is why Mommy has always got to have some tricks up the sleeve.  I got a tissue and told her that I was going to make sure it wasn't bleeding.  She opened her mouth still not sure she totally trusted me.  Although I have no idea why!  I took the tissue and gently pushed it as far back as it would go and then pulled forward very gently.  In fact, so gently that she didn't even feel what I was doing.  Then I gave her the tissue and told her to just pull it real easy.  She refused to pull on it, but at this point it was so ready to come out that when she pushed it with her tongue it feel right out of her mouth.  See, Mommy is GOOD!  I started clapping and got real excited that she did it by herself.   She was all smiles and couldn't wait to get ready for the tooth fairy.  She was so proud of herself.   The tooth fairy came and left $2 and dipped her wings in some water.  Her wings were pink with sparkles.

Mark said that when he went in to kiss them good bye this morning that Gracie was wide awake.  She asked him if the tooth fairy would still come if she was in Mommy's bed.  He told her that he bet the tooth fairy had already been.  He said she sat straight up and checked her pillow and said she has Daddy and now I am going to Mommy's bed.  He also said Hayden woke up and asked "what's going on" and he told her nothing and she rolled over and went right back to sleep.  Poor baby, I guess she had been awake for awhile, but didn't want to leave in case the tooth fairy came. She was a very happy girl this morning.  I can only imagine what she will tell them at school today!
